This 40,000 sq. ft. renovation included a Commons Area, Bookstore, Post Office, Coffee Bar "Common Grounds" and Palms Grille. Work included installing a 40 foot tall structural steel atrium above an existing two story structural steel roof & deck, while maintaining occupancy of the college bookstore, post office & grille and protecting students from construction renovations and existing utilities and providing a water-tight building envelope over the entire structure during renovations and installing a new elevated atrium. Other finishes include Terrazzo floors, ceramic tile floors, custom wood walls, circular architectural ceilings, custom wood panel ceilings, millwork finishes and a grand stair case with stainless steel and glass handrails and a south stair tower complete with glass, glazing and stainless steel handrails. The exterior finishes included brick masonry and EIFS to match the existing college color scheme.
